 was a Judge of the Family Court of the State of New York from March 1979 to October 1998, when she resigned to become a member of Morrison Cohen Singer & Weinstein, LLP. Ms. Thorpe serves on the Mayor's Advisory Committee on the Judiciary and has been appointed to serve as the guardian ad litem for the children in highly sensitive, prominent cases. Ms. Thorpe practices in all areas of matrimonial and family law, handling divorce, child custody, paternity, adoption, support and guardianship matters. She litigates in the Supreme, Surrogate's and Family Courts, and negotiates prenuptial and separation agreements. Ms. Thorpe has argued appeals in the Appellate Division and the New York State Court of Appeals.
